lot that happened anyway haha
I'll send my update tomorrow and if not.. well there wasn't a whole
lot that happened anyway haha
It's been a great week! I don't have lots of time to talk about it but
this week I wanted to share a thought about another parable I studied.
I love parables. The parable of the Prodigal Son is one of my
The son asks his dad for his inheritance and leaves, after spending it
all and becoming a homeless hungry man but most of all after realizing
he wanted to repent, he decides to return to his father's place. He
comes home and finishes his repentance process and his father is
really happy he has come back. He says to kill the fattest cow and
they throw a party. The other brother sees what is going on and gets
mad. The dad says to this brother that its okay, and that he should
not be mad his brother has come back. He was once dead (to the father)
but now has come back.
Obviously I might have missed some details and things but I want to
talk about one thing. The father's love is infinite. Its interesting
that he gave his son his inheritance and then he wasted it but came
back and got the fattest cow killed for him? Did it come from the
other brother's inheritance or? I believe this was to show that that
truly the father's love is infinite just like our Heavenly Father's
love is infinite. He loves us and will give us all that He has. He
wants us to come back to Him (repent) and it is a happy thing if we
do, a really really happy thing. His will is to not lose any of His
children. He loves us lots!
Anyway thats all I have time for, I love you all lots! Have a great week!
Hello everybody! This week was great!
This week I made the transfer from doing studies in English to
completely in French! I love it, its cool to read the bible in two
languages, with 2 whole vocabularies some things are best said in
French or vice-versa. Its been fun. I also mentionned last week that I
have been studying the 4 gospels and 'Jesus The Christ' for the past
12 weeks, its been really cool. I finished this last week and went on
to the parables. They are awesome.
I wanted to talk about a parable today. The parable of the "bridesmen"
,I think it is in English, is really really good. It talks about a man
who makes a vinyard all how it should be, all nice, and then leaves to
a far land. He sends after a while a servant to go get some of his
harvest and the people that take care of the vinyard cast him out. The
man tries again, they cast him out again. The man sends his very own
son to go gather the harvest and what do the people do? They kill the
mans very own son. In this parable God is the man Jesus is the son and
God's children, us, are the harvest. It is a very cool parable to
My testimony of this is that I know that God loves us, we are here for
a reason. He sends us things to bless us like prophets, commandments,
family, friends and lots more. He wants the best for us and He also
gave us His son who, because He was sent, is now our Savior and
Redeemer. We are truly blessed to have such a great Father in Heaven!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week! I love you all!
Hey everyone! This week we had a Zone Conference in Carcasonne. You
should look up pics of the castle there, it was SWEET. I also saw
another castle at Beziers which was pretty sweet too.
For the past 12 weeks I've been studying the New Testament, reading
and wriring about each miracle and thing that happens. Its been really
cool. I have learned more about Jesus than ever before. His example is
amazing, he is wonderful. I'm not to the end yet so I haven't studied
the most important thing He did - His sacrifice - but so far I can
tell you He is so loving. He loves us so much and His arm of mercy is
always extended towards us. We have our free choice, true, but He is
always hoping and waiting for us to turn to Him and exercise our faith
in Him. And miracles CAN and WILL happen if we do that.
Anyway, I love you all tons! Have a great week!!!
Hello, this week was funny. Yesterday we were on a train (we went
super super close to Spain!) and this little girl with SO much energy
was jumping around in the seat infront of me and just flat out going
crazy, making faces against the window and the glass at me, biting the
seat, turning on and off the reading lights and lots of other stuff. I
think her mom gave her an energy drink or something because it was
something I had never seen! (even growing up with Melissa) Literally,
it was so hilarious. Little French kids are so dang cute.
Well this is what I wanted to share this week. I was thinking one
night about how important teaching with the spirit is, and how REAL
conversino comes through the spirit testifying to someone. I thought
of a connection which is pretty cool: teaching without the spirit is
like explaining what the "Iron Rod" looks like or how it feels or
maybe even showing them a picture of it but they're still in the
darkness not actually holding on the the rod. On the other hand
teaching with the spirit is like actually bringing them to and showing
them the rod, and having them feel it. From there they can grab on and
never let go.
So that was cool, I know that true conversion comes through the heart
and not just being convinced by facts. I know that God loves us, He
has made a plan for us and that Jesus plays a key role in this plan.
The Book of Mormon is true and Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and
trough him we now have the priesthood again on earth and all the
blessings of the restored gospel.
I love you all! Have a great week!
Hello everybody! I only have time to share a little miracle. Otherwise
this week went really well, I love my new companion tons and we saw
lots of cool miracles. Also happy 14th of July for all you French
people who read this!
We were contacting and saw a one of those great looking families with
a stroller went and contacted them. They were super interested and
they even said they were talking earlier that day about how a
prophet/guidance today (like in the past) would be very nice. So they
are loving the questionnaire and we're having a good sparc session and
somebody behind me pokes me and I look over and its a member from one
of the other cities I have served in. I introduce him and he testifies
real quick and then leaves. We continued to talk with the family and
got their phone number and planned to do a family night with them.
Love you all, have a great week!

Hey everyone! I'm now in MONTPELLIER! My 5th city! I was looking at a

Well I'm short on time, so here are some pictures. They're more fun anyway:)
Pics: District meeting, my comp elder Smith and some other stuff!
Hello everybody! This week we have worked extra hard. As a district
(10 missionaries) we set some really good goals and we're really
getting pushed. Its fun, working hard is good. Goal getting is good:)
We have some really good amis (investigators) here, we've met lots of
cool people. One of our best amis right now is a friend of a member
and she's awesome. If you'd like to pray for her, feel free to do so.
We have set a date for baptism and we will be working together to get
her there. It feels so good to share the blessings of the gospel. The
member is so happy, imagine going to the temple with your best friend
for the first time!
Well everything is going well here, you should see the size of our
apartment. SO small! France is such a funny different place. I can't
wait to hear all the stories of all my friends that are all around the
world when we all are reunited again.
The French is coming pretty well, I am getting more fluent. Its a long
process but I am definitely past the hard part! I get a whole nother
year to polish it off. (Yes nother is a word I use on the daily)
Well all is well, the church is true! Love you all! Have a great week!
This week was HOT. We met lots of people and it was pretty sweet. We
are starting to teach some really cool people, this next week is going
to be awesome, I love teaching and sharing the blessings of the
gospel. It feels so good!
Well I don't have many other thoughts this week..
In the pictures we are writing letters/chilling. Then you get to see
some good French architecture, then the other was after we did some
gardening service. Haha good stuff.
The update this week is my insert/feedback to the mission. (we're all
giving our thoughts and making a little booklet apparently) a very
Faith, its all about Faith in Jesus Christ. A good quote I liked from
Sister Andersen was "Faith is not just faith, faith is faith in Jesus
Christ" The conference was very powerful, I think we all felt it.
Some things I learned more about that were really cool was that faith
really does have a short shelf life. - Elder Kearon. Its like an
altitude level of a plane. The plane won't stay up on 1 gallon of gas
for a long amount of time, we need to keep giving the engines gas.
This meaning we need to keep acting on our faith so we are always
staying at a good altitude.
I am a true believer though that we can always look back on the
miracles of our lives and see the hand of the Lord and all the "tender
mercies" he gives us.
During the conference I thought of a cool scripture found in hebrews
10:31. Sadly this scripture if you read the context is talking about
other things but it says "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands
of the living God." I liked how Elder Andersen said we can look back
and see all the stories in the scriptures and even the miracles in our
own lives and decide "I believe, I have faith in these things." It may
be a 'fearful thing' but we need to decide that we believe and because
we beleive and have this faith it pushes us to act.
One thing I have learned more about at this conference is that God is
all powerful and great things can happen but it is according to our
faith. The scripture 2 Nephi 27:23 helps us understand this. That is
why it is the first principle of the gospel, because without faith,
God can't really help us too much/give us miracles.
Well I hope we all learned lots. My testimony in Christ was
strengthened. My testimony in the importance of faith, faith in Christ
was strengthened too. I am so grateful we had this experience to go to
Nice and that we all are having this wonderful experience to be
missionaries. These things are not only doing so much good here in
France, but are preparing us for the rest of our lives; and our lives
are so that we can learn for eternity. So lets learn lots of great
stuff and apply and become like Christ, our Savior. And I say these
things in His name, Jesus Christ, amen.
Have a great week everyone, I love you tons!
-The bunkbed in the hotel. Itty bitty living space.
-Lots of missionaries, 1 bus.
